For riding students who enjoy a little friendly competition and parents who want
to see if all those riding lessons are paying off, Story Brook Stables provides
the opportunity to show off a little at the local shows. |
Riding students can rent one of Story Brook Stables' horses. Prices includes tack and show supplies (other than clothing) as well as assistance in preparing the horse and tack for the show. Horse rental is typically split by two riders, resulting in a cost of $37.50 per rider. A $ 20 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a horse for a show.. |
Transporting Horses to Show Bids are obtained from local haulers and divided among the number of riders. Cost is typically $25 - $35 per rider. Sometimes a non-refundable deposit is required. |
Our instructors are available at the shows for coaching. Fees are paid directly to instructors and are typically $25 - $35 per rider. |
Fees are paid upon signing up for classes at the shows. Costs range from $6 - $12 per class, depending on the show. |
Riders are responsible for dressing appropriately in the attire required for the classes in which they are showing. |
Riders (or parents for riders under the age of 18) are required to sign waivers for
the use of Story Brook Stables' horses, tack and equipment and agree to certain
responsibilities in preparing the horses and tack for the show and caring for
them during and after the show. |
In 2002, our students brought home ribbons from
three shows at South Park and one show at
Mingo Creek Farms. Special thanks to our trainers Sue Stepusin
& Shellie Graves. |
