Gadget
is a flashy, loud-colored leopard appaloosa gelding with huge dark brown spots all over. He is turning 7 years old this spring, is 14 hands in height, and is stocky enough for an average-sized adult. He was leased throughout the summer of 2002 by an experienced teenager, who trained at Story Brook Stables with one of the area's top hunter - jumper instructors. He got attention at his first hunter - jumper show in August, where he placed second and fifth in his two walk / trot / jumping classes and was calm, quiet and well behaved. He is a beautiful jumper but still needs work at the canter, as he tends to get fast. He is athletic and energetic and very sound barefoot. He would do well at timed jumping events or endurance riding. In addition to jumping, he has started training for barrel racing and games. He has lots of trail experience and he would make a great family or competitive trail horse, as he is not at all spooky, easily opens gates, backs and crosses anything. He has no vices, has wonderful ground manners and is safe for kids to work around. He bathes, clips, ties and is up to date on all shots, worming and Coggins. He gets along well with other horses and is hardy enough to be kept in the pasture with a run-in shed or is fine in a stall. His price will go up as his training continues. However, it is currently somewhat negotiable to the right home. Price: $2,200 |

Rebel
is
a sweet, lovable 14.2 hand leopard appaloosa gelding
covered in large sorrel spots. He is stocky enough for an average-sized adult and was extensively trail ridden by adults before joining the Story Brook Stables lesson program. He has been ridden by total beginners through intermediate riders learning to walk, trot, canter and jump. He is sweet and willing and does everything asked of him. He has wonderful ground manners and is easy for even the youngest riders to groom and handle. He has been ridden in countless birthday parties and Girl Scout activities by children riding for the first time. He never spooks, takes off or does anything that would be scary or dangerous for a beginner. He gets along well with other horses and is hardy enough to live in a pasture with a run-in shed or is fine in a stall. He is up to date on all his shots and worming. The only reason we are regretfully offering him for sale is that he is now approximately 20 years old and will occasionally trip during lessons. He is ready for an easier life than that of a busy riding lesson program and we are looking for a good home for him with a family who will love him. |
